| One month ago, the world of Kyn was once prosperous, full of magic, health, and happiness. The grasslands in the west had plenty of wildlife, and the forest to the north served as home to many creatures. Tall spires in the south-west were the homes to the world's most powerful mages. Of course, there were problems, like the Orcs in the south, and the Trolls to the east, but their invasions came rarely. Then the Cataclysm happened. The seas rose up, and wrecked the port towns. Meteors, falling from the sky, collided with almost every major city in Kyn. Gigantic Elementals made of stone rose from the ground with a seething hate for all living beings. The world of Kyn itself ripped itself asunder. Today. Jaele Kenncas was in a hut, in a forest to the north. This one was small, and wasn't patroled by the Elementals . . Yet. He was cooking a small squirrel. Most of the larger game had gone missing, and all he could find was one lousy squirrel. He would have to move soon, or starve. He ran his hands through his blond long hair. He had green piercing eyes, and at his back was a unique sword. He grimaced when he looked over at the squirrel, where it was quite charred. "I had just looked away for a second. . ." He said as he pulled it off of the fire and started unhappily crunching it.

| Walking around by foot, in the middle of the day, was one of the least sensible things to do. Then again, Vee didn't have much choice about it, seeing as her shelter had been destroyed a few days back, so she'd gone north-east ever since.
Of course, should she run into one of the Elementals she would be in trouble. Being a sorceress specialized in fire, she didn't have many protective spells. Fire didn't really lend itself to defensive spells.
She blinked as she spotted the hut, and mentally went over a basic fireball spell as she approached. You could never tell these days...

| Jaele heard something outside. Snuffing his fire and dropping his charred squirrel, he grabbed his blade and peeked out the window. It was a human! He opened the door for her; She didn't seem like a bandit, and she was much too calm to be one of the many that went insane.
"Can I help you?" He asked.

| Vee blinked as Jaele opened the door, mentally dispersing the spell.
"Help...? No, no, nothing like that. Just nice to have some comp- co- to see somebody again." She frowned as she mentally lost grip of another word. She knew exactly what it meant, just the actual thing itself was gone.
She bowed her head, at a loss of what else to do. She had not seen another living human since some time before the Catalysm, but it was only now she was loosing her grip on more complex words. Well, words which didn't correspond to a spell in some way.

| "Ah," Jaele said, nodding. "Such a thing as people are sadly a rare commodity these days." He said. "I'm sorry, but I have no food other than squirrel, and I have a fairly bad habit of burning it. So. Would you like some charred squirrel?" | |

| Vee blanked out momentarily, moving her lips as she tried to remember what a squirrel was. Wait...Burn?
"I like fire. Really like it." Was apparently the best she could muster, speech-wise. Fantastic. This was going to getting irritating, fast.

| "You must be a mage, right?" Jaele said. "There's so much magic in your head there isn't room for words, right?" He wasn't too bright, but he was a good fighter when he needed to be. | |

| Vee's expression settled into mild annoyance. Of course she was a mage, the robes she wore should of been enough to tell him that. As for her head being 'Too full of magic'....
"Started with Cata- Catal- Event, got worse since.' She said coldly. At least she still had different ways of speaking her shrinking vocabulary.
